Stefan Schwarz received his Dipl.-Ing. (University of Applied Sciences) degree from Aalen University in 1989. After several years of further training in Great Britain and the USA, he successfully qualified as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and a Member of the College of Optometry (MCOptom).
In 2008, he was the first German to pass the Diplomate examination in Cornea, Contact Lenses and Refractive Technologies at the American Academy of Optometry. His practice focuses on the analysis and correction of visual disorders often caused by progressive corneal disease, corneal injury and wetting disorders of the eye. His interests also include infant vision development and eye examination in people with intellectual disabilities. Stefan Schwarz reports on his experiences at national and international conferences and in numerous publications and book chapters.
