Detlev Breyer is the proprietor and senior surgeon of Breyer, Kaymak & Klabe Eye Surgery und Premium Eyes in Düsseldorf, Germany. The clinic was established in 2002 and specializes in innovative, gentle and painless laser treatments and outpatient eye surgery.

Detlev Breyer studied medicine at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in Erlangen/Nürnberg, at Heinrich Heine Universität, Düsseldorf, at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA and at MSKCC, New York, USA. He is an internationally recognized surgeon, researcher, developer and teacher in the field of minimal invasive eye surgery using femtosecond laser technology to correct myopia, presbyopia, hyperopia, corneal astigmatism, keratoconus and cataract. He was among the first ten surgeons worldwide to use ReLEx® smile and among the first ten European eye surgeons to perform minimal invasive laser cataract operations.

His contributions to developing innovative techniques has earned him recognition from the international professional community: he is a faculty member of leading German, European, American and Asian ophthalmosurgical conferences and a reviewer for international professional journals.
